ลิโอเบนเป็นเมืองเล็กๆในออสเตรียไม่ไกลจากเมืองหลวง(เวียนนา)
เมืองนี้ให้กำเนิดเบียร์ดังของออสเตรีย ที่มีชื่อว่า Gösser เมืองลิโอเบนแห่งนี้ว่ากันว่าเมื่อพันกว่าปีมาแล้วในคอนแวนต์แห่งหนึ่งมีคณะนางชีได้มีการหมักบ่มเบียร์เพื่อแจกจ่ายในโรงทานและแล้วGösser ก็ได้ถือกำเนิดเป็นเบียร์ดังระดับชาติ นอกจากนี้เมืองลิโอเบนยังเป็นเมืองที่ทำอุตสาหกรรมเหล็กนับตั้งแต่สมัยกลาง ปัจจุบันมีมหาวิทยาลัยนานาชาติชื่อ Montanuniversität Leoben หรือUniversity of Leoben เป็นมหาวิทยาลัยสำหรับการทำเหมืองโลหะและเทคโนโลยี่
The former abbey's estates and the nunnery had had its own brewer since 1459 and have since then The Goesser beer in Leoben is world renowned and part of the Heineken Company and one of Austria’s favourite beers, here is a small town named Lioben.
Lioben is a city of the steel industry since the Middle Ages. There are also mining universities as well.
